Meet Our Staff

Lisa Faer, R.N., B.S.N, Chief Aesthetic Nurse

Graduating at the top of her class, Lisa completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science with plans to continue on to medical school. However, after working intimately as a rehabilitation therapist for children with autism, Lisa realized that the nursing profession was a better fit, as she thrived in environments that allowed her to build therapeutic relationships and spend quality time caring for people. On an academic scholarship, Lisa went on to complete her second degree in nursing and graduated Summa Cum Laude with High Honors from the highly selective accelerated nursing program at the University of Maryland. She then received additional training at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Hospital on one of the most acute Psychiatric Inpatient units in the nation.

Upon her return to her hometown of Piedmont, California, Lisa obtained a part-time adjunct faculty position at the University of San Francisco, teaching clinical rotations at Stanford Hospital. It was through the influence of mentors at Stanford and USF that Lisa developed a knowledge base and passion for the burgeoning field of aesthetic medicine. She began her work in aesthetic nursing at Soņa MedSpa, where she served as lead nurse before transitioning into private practice with cosmetic dermatologist, Dr. Thomas Munyon. Under the tutelage of Dr. Munyon, Lisa continued to develop her expertise, and has completed extensive training and certifications in areas of facial rejuvenation, skin care, and laser hair removal. Her expertise includes Intense Pulsed Light rejuvenation, Fractional Skin Resurfacing, Botox, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, Laser Hair Removal and medical grade customized skin care for aging and acne prone skin.

As a published researcher, Lisa emphasizes the importance of evidenced based practice in the daily operations of Munyon Dermatology, Inc.. Lisa works closely with Dr. Munyon to investigate and research products and services before offering them to clients. "When a product or technology is new, there is often a lot of hype and pressure to jump on the bandwagon. We believe it is important to differentiate between advertising and proven scientific data. We want to know that the products and services we recommend to our clients will provide them with the superior results that they are looking for, and not just a placebo effect." Lisa is known for her "gentle touch" and painless approach to all procedures, as well as, her passion for listening to her clients and explaining complicated procedures. "Listening carefully to our clients is the best way to develop a personalized treatment plan and to ensure that we exceed their expectations." Lisa is a member of the Dermatology Nurses Association and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Amy Poullos, R.N., B.S.N.

Amy received her first bachelor's degree from U.C. Berkeley in 1998. After 4 years as a student-athlete, balancing a social welfare curriculum and volleyball, she decided to pursue a career in education. Amy worked as a Spanish bilingual teacher and scholarship advisor for 4 years, and found this work both rewarding and challenging. Working in the non-profit sector laid the foundation for Amy's next career move.

In 2003, while at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Amy began her prerequisites for nursing school. While she found the science interesting, Amy thoroughly enjoyed her role as clinician and educator, building therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Amy was recognized for demonstrating family-oriented care in her first year of nursing school, winning a $12,500 scholarship from Sequoia Hospital. Amy concurrently won a $1,500 scholarship from Sequoia Hospital's volunteer department in recognition of academic achievement and community service. Amy volunteers her time working with SCORE (Spinal Cord Opportunities for Rehabilitation Endowment), fundraising and awarding grants to individuals who have suffered spinal cord injuries.

In early 2007, Amy was asked to co-author an academic article about spinal cord injuries, which was published in the December issue of Nursing Clinics of North America. After graduating with honors from SF State University in 2007, Amy decided to pursue a nursing career combining her interests in therapeutic relationships, continuity of care, and hands-on procedures. Aesthetic nursing at Munyon Dermatology became a perfect fit! Amy is excited to be learning from and working with such an experienced and knowledgeable staff at Munyon Dermatology.
